I know the importance of wanting to find a good supervisor who is competent in the laws and ethics of the state and profession, and who will challenge you while also helping you grow as an individual and therapist in a caring and compassionate way.
Since working in the mental health field for over 10 years and providing clinical supervision since 2017, I have had many different supervisors and have been able to learn a lot about how I would want to be supervised which has helped me to develop my own supervisory style of taking a collaborative approach to supervision where we focus on your growth as a professional and individual in whatever setting you work in. I want to support you in strengthening the skills and talents you already have while also challenging you to develop your clinical skills and theoretical rationale in new ways. It is important for me to help supervisees understand the therapeutic process and therapeutic relationship and the experiences he or she has during each therapy session conducted with clients.
I have taken the coursework and have met all the requirements for the Approved Clinical Supervisor credential as it is important to me to make sure I am providing you strong and ethical supervision. I obtained the ACS credential in February 2022. I am able to provide clinical supervision to those pursing the licensure as a professional counselor and addiction counselor, and certification for addiction technician and addiction specialist. EMDR is a passion of mine, and I could talk all day about the amazing trainings and experiences I have had the opportunity to be a part of. From the first time I heard of EMDR, I knew I wanted to pursue everything I could with this modality. I had the opportunity to become trained in EMDR in 2014 while I was still pursuing my master’s degree. After graduation, I obtained a job in community mental health and within a couple of years, was able to begin using EMDR with my clients which mainly focused on stabilization and preparation for reprocessing. I was also able to pursue certification and became certified in March of 2019. In November of 2019, I started my own practice and began pursing the EMDRIA Approved Consultant status which I was able to obtain in April 2022. I have had the opportunity to work with many different consultees and clients and I believe EMDR can be used, in the appropriate context, to help anyone reprocess any maladaptive behavior to a more adaptive manner.
I specialize in complex and attachment trauma, substance use, depression, and anxiety with adult individuals. I like to help my consultees strengthen their basic understanding of the EMDR protocol as well as develop confidence in using it with their clients. I take a collaborative approach to consultation that allows us to discuss the use of ego states, parts work, addiction protocols, stabilization, and preparation for reprocessing to name a few. I also find my own consultation with consultants to be valuable and know I have strong resources to offer you if I don’t know the answer. Because I have experienced my own amazing healing with EMDR as well as having the honor and privilege of helping Clients find the healing they are looking for, I want to help you develop the passion and confidence you are looking for.
